Opportunity is defined as “a set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something”. That’s generally speaking, but from a business standpoint opportunity is an avenue of activity that is both actionable and has the short and long term potential to provide value to entrepreneurs and customers.
The MOST important part to understand about opportunity is that it has the innate ability to excite you into taking action and at the same time frighten you into inaction, especially if you’ve never been an entrepreneur before. So it’s important to understand that, according to the definition, it’s made abundantly clear that it’s “possible” but not guaranteed. Meaning, just because opportunity presents itself to you does NOT mean that you will take action on it.
This is why I LOVE opportunity. I look at every single day as the opportunity to create, to live better, to help more, to earn more, to be nice, to learn…every single day is an opportunity for you and I to improve in some way. Did you realize that if you only managed to improve yourself by ONE QUARTER OF ONE PERCENT every single day (that’s .0025%) by the end of only one year you would have improved by almost 100%?! So it’s not necessarily about making giant, sweeping changes to your thinking and your life all at once…it’s about making small changes and adjustments every single day, consistently, that will have the biggest impact. That’s precisely why self improvement and personal development is so critical to people, but especially entrepreneurs. Small hinges swing big doors after all. At least that’s the way I look at it. That’s why I’ve always made personal development the core of all my entrepreneurial endeavors.
Additionally, learning how to take action quickly is vital to opportunity as well. In the early 1900’s Dr. Napoleon Hill, famous for writing the most popular self development book of all time ‘Think And Grow Rich’, interviewed hundreds of the most successful people of the time and found that one of the common traits among them was they took action quickly. That’s why I’ve always been the type to quickly “see, process, take action” when it comes to opportunity…and, hence, why I’ve had many BIG successes in my life. I am not afraid to fail, and you should not be either because failure is when you learn the most. As failures mount in your life, so do the successes.
Think of a professional baseball player…to become a legendary one that is enshrined into the Hall Of Fame all you have to do is get one hit out of every three swings, consistently. That’s only ONE THIRD success rate…33%! Yet in the world of entrepreneurship most “newbies” quit after one or two failures…failure to close a sale, failure to recruit a new person to the team, failure to hit a certain sales goal, etc. The reality is that success is not about how talented you are…it’s ALL about how perseverant you are. And perseverance starts with belief that something is possible. And belief starts with your own personal development.
We live in an often negative world, so building your belief and knowledge up to the point of being able to act with perseverance when opportunity presents itself – is TOUGH! Now you know why professional athletes that get paid LOTS of money to play a game they love cry like babies when they win a world championship…because they are reflecting back on how TOUGH it was to get there. They reflect on the long hours of daily practice, they reflect on all those years as a kid when all they dreamt about was winning a championship but were told to be “realistic and focus on good grades so you can get a real job that pays well”. They reflect on all the negativity they had to endure, all the injuries, and all the hard lessons. Getting to the top of ANYTHING is NOT easy otherwise everyone would be at the top. Do you get that?
Even today, when I reflect back on my life, I sometimes tear up with joy as I remember the years where nothing seemed to work. I remember the years where I thought it should come easier and faster. I remember the years when I felt alone and isolated wondering why I couldn’t get to the level of success of those I was following. I also remember how good it felt after persevering to the point of finally starting to see some success, when it really started to work for me, when things started coming together, when the money started flowing in regularly, when I figured out systems to automate it, and when it all started to just click!
So I’ve never discounted opportunities to create more income streams for myself and my family. Because I know belief and perseverance are the keys.
I want the same for you because it’s truly an awesome feeling when it all comes together. Life is entirely too short to not truly LIVE, to have way more money than you need coming in from various sources, to know that your income is not solely derived from time exchanged for it, to know that you’re really building something that can not only grow, but LAST!
One of my mentors taught me something extremely valuable in my early twenties and I never forgot it: Opportunity knocks, but you have to push the door open with force and take what’s yours!
And that has definitely been what I’ve done most of my life as an entrepreneur. I knew no one was going to give me anything…I’d have to EARN it. Having built a 7-figure consulting practice and multiple 6-figure online businesses over the years I had pushed in and knocked down many doors!
So when my wife Heather and I were presented with the opportunity that SEACRET provides, as always, I had a very open mind, and I KNEW it would take hard work to make SEACRET work for me because that’s the mentality I’ve always had with every opportunity I’ve pursued and business I’ve built.
So I did my due diligence, which started with researching the leadership of the company. I’ll explain what that looked like for me and also why it’s important…
basically, with any opportunity there has to be a strong company or leadership presence behind it. Integrity-based leadership is what I always look for. With SEACRET I found all that and more.
When it’s good at the top, it will always be good at the bottom…similarly, when it’s rotten at the top, it will always be rotten at the bottom.
I learned that a long time ago and it’s something that I’ve always held at the top of my awareness when assessing opportunities. It’s important because you want to be certain that when you dive in you will have a strong foundation for winning, and if you lose…it won’t because the infrastructure wasn’t there for you…it will only be because you quit.
The next thing I looked at when the SEACRET opportunity presented itself to me was their commitment to excellence when it came to their products. They started off with skin care utilizing minerals from the Dead Sea in Israel. What really turned my head and got my attention, though, was the fact that L’Oreal (the LARGEST cosmetics company in the world) proactively sought out SEACRET to purchase their proprietary formulas, and they refused. What the owners of SEACRET ‘did’ do, however, was work out a deal with them to become the EXCLUSIVE manufacturer of the SEACRET line of skin care products.
THAT is a big deal.
Why? Because when you’re the largest cosmetics company in the world quality is of the utmost importance, so when people buy SEACRET skin care they can be assured of getting the highest quality ingredients and the highest quality products. This means less returns, less negative reviews, and more happy customers. And happy customers means repeat and referred customers. THAT means MORE INCOME!
Then there was the entire nutritional line of products they have called Life by SEACRET created by Dr. Howard Cohn, which further proved to me that their commitment to excellence in products extended beyond just their skin care.
The next thing I looked at was the SEACRET compensation plan.
It’s fascinating to me how often I witness “wantrepreneurs” getting involved in an opportunity without fully assessing when and how the money is earned. It’s critical. These same people would never in a million years accept a job without knowing PRECISELY when and how they would be earning their paycheck, but they do it all the time with opportunity.
What I learned when assessing SEACRET’s compensation plan was that they offered 9 different income streams (if you include the substantial free product credits earned as well). And collectively these income streams offered added up to more than 60% return to the distributor [Agents] for products sold, which is VERY healthy.
To give this perspective, a well run company requires about 30-35% of the retail price of products sold in order to efficiently run and operate the company, so when I see companies offering around 60% or more back to the distributors from products sold…they have my attention.
There’s a really important distinction I want to make now, too, while you’re considering SEACRET’s business opportunity: if you decide to join and become a part of our FAST GROWING organization and reap all the benefits of being an Independent Agent, it’s critical to understand you will not be in the skin care or nutrition business, you’ll first and foremost be in a MARKETING business.
This point is so important I’m going to expand on it even further…
One of my companies I’ve owned for over 20 years is a successful consulting practice where I help small business owners in 3X and 4X their cash flow, and during the processes I’ve built there is a free consultation so I can get to know their situation in greater detail. And one of the most common things I hear from these business owners is something along the lines of, “Oh I don’t have time for marketing…I’m too busy running the day to day of my business”.
Let me be VERY blunt and VERY clear on this: THE most important skill you can have in ANY business is MARKETING. This is not up for discussion or debate because if you can’t get customers consistently over and over and over, then you have no business. You have a hobby.
So, that being said, when you start your business with SEACRET as an independent Agent, you are NOT in the skin care business or nutritional business…you are in the marketing business first and foremost. A marketing business that sells and distributes world class skin care and nutritional products.
Very similar to when people buy into a McDonald’s franchise…they are not buying a hamburger and french fry business. They are buying a marketing business that sells and distributes hamburgers and french fries (which are arguably not even that good!).
Networking Marketing vs Marketing
You may or may not be familiar with the term network marketing. This is a very misleading term (and also very misunderstood), which I want to discuss first…
Network marketing is basically leveraging the sale of goods and services through word of mouth (ie, other people), and this method of product distribution absolutely works, but it requires a different set of skills than just selling products. It involves developing your skillset of understanding how people think, what makes them tick, and being a good networker…being personable. Not everyone has these traits inherently, but like anything they can be developed.
Marketing, on the other hand, can be anything from digital ads to print ads to press releases and many more.
When building a network of other Agents in SEACRET as part of your organization you will earn commission off of not only your own sales, but also theirs. Just like real estate brokers earn commissions off the effort of the agents under their umbrella that they have recruited and trained to get listings and sell homes. Or in corporate terms, just like corporate executives earn their salaries based on how well their efforts contribute to the bottom line of the company they represent…even the lower end workers’ efforts contribute to the bottom line of a company. Everyone is part of some form of pyramid structure. Everyone.
And this is why savvy entrepreneurs are drawn to the now proven model of network marketing because, unlike any other opportunity, it allows you to leverage your time (and income) through the efforts of others.
Some people will often reference a “network marketing company” as a pyramid scheme, which is laughable because when I hear people say it I quickly know they know NOTHING about business and distribution. The networking or building a team part of SEACRET’s opportunity is simply one way to earn more income, and it’s made infinitely easier because the company has gone to great lengths to create world class products that people love, which lead to repeat and referred customers around the world.
So that’s why it’s best to refer to good network marketing opportunities as simply ‘opportunities’ because there are many ways to sell in today’s world where you have easy access to millions of potential customers all over the world.
Anyway, after I assessed those 3 core things with the opportunity SEACRET offered -and everything passed my litmus tests- Heather and I decided to get started. And just like I’ve advised you to do we started with a 5 year game plan.
Now I’m going to give you some more insight on the world of business so you have a complete understanding before I share our results as of this writing…
If you’re new to the world of being an entrepreneur, and especially if you’re new to the world of online marketing there are some terms you need to become familiar with:
Affiliate Marketing – when you sell a companies products or services for a straight commission, which varies depending on the type of product you sell and is infrequently residual in nature.
Automation – when digital systems are set up to make acquiring new customers and new Agents within your team/organization happen without direct and daily effort.
The reason I bring these terms up is because if you intend to capitalize on the SEACRET opportunity you need to understand that there are many ways to earn money and you don’t have to be pigeon-holed into just one, which happens often in “network marketing” opportunities because novices only know of one way to build income.
I like to refer to SEACRET as an Affiliate Marketing system on steroids with a Network Marketing option. Why? Because I know from experience that when the right digital systems are implemented (Automation) then both of these components are put into place, and you have a REAL, viable business.
When you are ONLY looking for new Agents to recruit (building a team) you are missing out on a HUGE income stream from straight away retail sales AND also setting yourself up for massive disappointment because of the self-imposed limitations you’ve injected into your business right out of the gate.
This is why I tell people who are considering the SEACRET opportunity to NOT join if you don’t have a 5 year plan for success that you will adhere to. Because, much like high school or college, you can’t complete 4 years worth of knowledge in two weeks or two months. Give yourself a fighting chance to succeed by going into this with a 5 year plan.
This is actually more like a personal development program with world class products and a stellar compensation plan attached to it.
Sure, one of the best parts about this opportunity is that it costs a measly $49 per year to become an Agent AND you can build it however you want AND on a part time basis…
those same characteristics are also what make them the WORST parts about this opportunity.
Why do I say this?
Think about it: if you invest $49 into a business and you fail to find the success you want in the first 90 days, then often people quit because, “Well, it was only $49” (followed by a litany of other excuses). However, if you invested $5,000,000 into a McDonald’s franchise and you failed to find success in the first 90 days, needless to say you’d be sticking with it until you did have success, right?
It’s a mindset thing.
You’ve got the opportunity to create a 6 or even 7 figure business of your very own, selling world class products from a world class company with world class training to help you succeed, and it only costs you $49 per year to have access to this. You’ll even have access to live events where you can network with others and grow your business even faster, where you can get personal development, and where you will be surrounded with successful, likeminded people…
but all too often I see ‘would be success stories’ wither and die because the people didn’t take it seriously enough.
Again, it’s all about perspective.
So if you decide to become a part of our global SEACRET family and create a side income stream for yourself and your family, a full time income, or even life altering income, it’s important you take the facts of this article very seriously. It has taken most of my life, many failures, and many wise mentors along the way to teach me that opportunity is not what happens when it presents itself…but what actions you take when it presents itself.
As of this writing, Heather and I have built our business with SEACRET that includes Independent Agents from around the world -most of whom we’ve never met and do not know- yet we earn commissions from their efforts and products they sell. We find hundreds of new customers every month from all over the world with our digital systems, and we are part of one of the fastest growing organizations within the company, globally. I can attest that the opportunity is real and the company is built for long term success. But you have to first think about it accurately and successfully.
